There are very few words that I remember the exact moment I first heard them. I know where I was when I learned the word “flâneur”. It was in the title of a book that, as I was told, perfectly described the Parisian lifestyle, “La Physiologie du Flâneur”. I had been living in France for only 3 months and it was all I needed to make my experience take on a whole new meaning.
